Avon Education Association Contract

                      AEA Newsletter

I truly hope you had a wonderful summer break.  How quickly our vacation passes! We have so much to address this year, the new Municipal Health Insurance Law, developing our new Teacher Evaluations, incorporating our new Common Core Standards, facing new political concerns to overcome and for some, the NEASC preparations. In addition, we are still bargaining in negotiations for a new contract. I look forward to a challenging school year and again, we can accomplish anything if we work together.

MTA Summer Conference Aug. 7-11

It was a great conference! Amanda Pyne and I represented Avon. We attended classes, earned some PDP’s, met many people, took in a play, “Touched”, saw great movies, attended  socials, got plenty of exercise, took a water aerobics class and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. We hope to encourage more teachers to attend next year. It’s an excellent retreat before school begins!
